Kat-astrophe

Day 28 01:15
By Dawnuss

It all got a bit too much for Kathreya when tempers began to flare once again.

As Rex and Rebecca began to trade insults Kat rushed off to the toilet and burst into tears.

“I’m not having that” said Lisa following her as shouts of ridiculous, silly, pathetic and grow up could be heard, mainly from Rebecca and Mario (Great demonstration of people skills that one Mario)

“Why can’t everyone just get along?” sobbed Kat as Rachael and Lisa listened.

“Don’t get carried away” said Lisa “You are starting to stress people out. Leave it up to them to sort it out. Come on – out!” she ordered.

A little later Kat poured her heart out to Big Brother. “I don’t like arguments, or negativity.” She came to the conclusion she would try to distance herself a little and remain calm. Returning to the group she apologized for her behaviour.

“I care too much about how other people feel. I should be able to cope better” she explained.

“No need to apologize” Mario said “You are what you are”

Eh?…..Make your mind up Mario??

It came as a surprise to hear Mario and Lisa bitching about her again to Luke whilst in the bathroom.

Mario said “She has a darker side. I’d watch her”. This from the man that “would rather have a kebab and a pint than a laugh”

Immediately they changed the subject when Kat approached and spoke to Luke

“Enjoy your bath” she smiled, unaware she was the topic of the moment.

Why is it that some housemates feel Kat’s happiness is not genuine and that she does not feel the need to gossip?

Why did Lisa deem it necessary to chastise her and for Mario to tell her to "grow up"?

It is a shame they did not approach Alex in the same way when her behaviour was far more detrimental to the group. Is it because she is an easy target and Alex was not? Shame on them if that is the case.

Kathreya is a helpful, gentle soul - a strong believer in Karma - who stated she wanted to bring positivity to the house. A thoughtful and wise housemate who gives sound advice considering English is not her first language. One who always looks for the good in others and attempts to understand them. In particular, her conversations with Rex have led him to reveal a glimpse of what he is about. Oversensitive may be a word some would use to describe her yet is it such a crime? Spreading Cookie love is no bad thing.

The housemates could possibly learn a thing or two from Kat.
